CAWTHORPE HALL
Cawthorpe Hall is a beautiful 19th century stone built
house with Heritage Grade 2 Listing. Located at the edge of the Fens where the
land starts rising into a rolling landscape, large forested areas such as
Bourne Woods are within walking distance.
Cawthorpe is within 1 hour's drive of Lincoln, Boston, Cambridge, Stamford
and Peterborough - famous for their cathedrals, historic buildings and the
ancestral origins of many who made fresh starts in the Americas. Grimsthorpe
Castle, Burghley House and Belton House are all very close.

House and gardens
The setting is very peaceful. The lawns and
borders unfold from the house, extending over three acres amongst the ancient
cedars and limes. Guests can wander through several acres of roses and see how
rose oil, one of the most precious essential oils, is extracted from the
fragrant roses grown in the grounds of the house. The rose pickers gather the
flowers in the early dawn before the guests start their delicious breakfast and l
before the sun can warm the blooms and disperse the perfume on the summer
breeze. |
Meals
The choice for breakfast includes various cereals and muesli, organic bacon and eggs, plus toast with home made jams. This is all included in the price of the room and served in the large studio built by Gardner
or in the lovely kitchen by the Aga. Other meals can be taken in the various surrounding pubs.
